This presentation will explore the intersection of art, culture, and technology, offering insights into how new media and immersive technologies are transforming curatorial practices. Dr. Libby Lai-Pik Chan will discuss her work on the exhibition “Might & Magnificence: Ceremonial Arms and Armour Across Cultures,” where she leverages technology to bring historical exhibits to life, merging traditional curatorial expertise with cutting-edge technological experiences.

About the Speaker
Dr. Libby Lai-Pik Chan is the Director of the Indra and Harry Banga Gallery at the City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK). She provides strategic leadership in curatorial direction, bridging Asian and Western arts and cultures, and leveraging CityUHK’s strength in new media, science, and technology to engage a wider community. Dr. Chan has previously served in key roles at the Hong Kong Maritime Museum, the Asian Civilisations Museum in Singapore, and other notable institutions, focusing on curatorial practice, collection management, and interdisciplinary research. Her expertise spans a wide range of topics, including the heritage of Hong Kong, Chinese decorative arts, and the Silk Routes of world history.
