Project Overview

Many landmarks contain valuable historical, cultural, and social information. However, visitors often interact with these places passively, relying only on physical signs, plaques, or short descriptions unless they actively search for more information online. This creates a gap between physical spaces and visitors’ actual experiences, especially when users seek historical background, local context, or personalized exploration.

This project aims to investigate how digital technologies can transform static landmarks into more intuitive, informative, and interactive experiences. Through a mobile-first interactive platform, users can access landmark-related information by scanning QR codes and interact with digital content more engagingly.  

Rather than presenting landmarks as isolated sites, the project encourages users to understand the connections between landmarks, local memory, history, and surrounding environments. Depending on the project development, the platform may incorporate interactive features such as digital maps, AI-assisted guidance, personalized recommendations, or multimedia content. 

This project also explores how technology can support cultural exploration and improve visitors’ overall experience when engaging with local landmarks.
