ArtVirtual & Virtual Library Research
Project Overview
To utilize latest photogrammetry and digital scanning technologies for digital archiving and presentation. Research on the cutting edge archival and immersive technologies to preserve, narrate and curate experiential, immersive pedagogy and cultural material.
A digital library for the Arts Tech Lab is being contracted and physical book items are being collected and digitize to create a virtual gallery for all faculty students to access.
Technologies of a procedural generate digital gallery of selected artists are constructed and researched in producing virtual gallery for experience, learning and showcases of these artists, such as painter Salvador Dali and architect Zaha Hadid.
The technology developed at the lab for virtual gallery exhibition and virtual library archiving will be presented to global institutions and museums such as M+ and the transnational art event such as Art Basels to produce wider accessibilities regardless of locale and cultural through online platforms and networked institutions.
These virtual platforms are shown and introduced to students in the VR/XR 2205, Trajectory 2100, Total Design2107, Imaginaries 2106 classes to illustrate virtual heritage, experiential design, historical narration and cultural imaginaries. Students are invited to participate in Project Internship 3100 [SIPP]-Student Internship Project with Partner to reconstruct the selected artist and experience of their choosing to enhance their digital skills.
